Which prop firms allow news trading
In the evaluation, most of them: 12 of the 16 put no window on it at all. At The5ers, Maven Trading and FXIFY it depends on the programme you buy. At Goat Funded Trader the profit cap applies in the evaluation too.
Once funded it turns around. Goat Funded Trader and AquaFunded still allow news on every funded account, with a cap on what a trade in the window may make. Funded Trading Plus sets no news window on a funded account at all. FTMO, The5ers, Alpha Capital, E8 Markets, Hola Prime, Instant Funding, Blue Guardian, Maven Trading, FXIFY and FunderPro keep one account type without a window, named in the table above. FundingPips, FundedNext and BrightFunded restrict news on every funded account. So the way out of a window is usually a different account type, not a different trade.
What nearly every rule has in common
The rule is about a window of minutes, and it is checked on the trade afterwards, by software. A stop or a take profit that fills inside the window counts at most of these firms, whatever you meant by it. Even the firm without a window judges news trades afterwards, on their size and how long they were held.
So the part that keeps you out of trouble is knowing the release is coming. MacroSetup flags every high-impact release on both currencies of a setup, with the time, before the session starts. How to plan a week around the rules.
This week's high-impact releases
The releases for the eight major currencies this trading week, from our own calendar. Which of them your firm restricts is its own list, so treat this as the week to plan around and check theirs before a trade on a funded account.

Questions about prop firm news rules
Which prop firms allow news trading?
During the evaluation, 12 of the 16 firms here put no news window on it: FundingPips, FTMO, FundedNext, Alpha Capital, E8 Markets, Hola Prime, Instant Funding, Blue Guardian, AquaFunded, BrightFunded, Funded Trading Plus and FunderPro. Goat Funded Trader and AquaFunded still allow news on every funded account, with a cap on what a trade in the window may make. Funded Trading Plus sets no news window on a funded account at all. 10 keep one account type without a window: FTMO on the Swing account; The5ers on Hyper-Growth and Bootcamp, bracket strategies excluded; Alpha Capital on the Alpha Swing plan, with a 2-minute minimum hold around releases; E8 Markets on E8 Signature and E8 Pro; Hola Prime on 1-Step and 2-Step Prime; Instant Funding on the micro accounts, or any account with their news add-on; Blue Guardian on Instant Starter; Maven Trading on Buy Now Pay Later and the Instant accounts, by their FAQ; FXIFY on the 1, 2 and 3 Phase accounts and 2 Phase Pro; FunderPro on any account with the Swing add-on. FundingPips, FundedNext and BrightFunded restrict news on every funded account.
How long is the news window at a prop firm?
On a firm's main programme, from 2 to 5 minutes either side of the release: 2 minutes at FTMO, The5ers, Maven Trading and FunderPro; 4 minutes at Instant Funding; 5 minutes at FundingPips, FundedNext, Alpha Capital, E8 Markets, Hola Prime, Blue Guardian, Goat Funded Trader, AquaFunded, BrightFunded and FXIFY. FundingPips goes to 10 minutes on another programme. Several firms count a speech for its whole length, plus the window on both sides.
What happens if you trade inside the window on a funded account?
It runs from a cap on the profit to a closed account. Alpha Capital: profit not eligible for the performance fee. AquaFunded: news profit above 0.5 percent of the starting balance per payout cycle removed. Blue Guardian: profit removed, without a violation. BrightFunded: profit of the trade deducted, the loss stays yours. E8 Markets: profit in the window deducted at payout. FTMO: the account may be terminated. Funded Trading Plus: no set penalty; a risk review can take the profit or the account. FundedNext: only 40 percent of the profit counts, the loss in full. FunderPro: a warning or a closed account. FundingPips: profit of the whole trade deducted; 10 minutes and a closed account on FundingPips Zero. FXIFY: the trade is void, the profit disregarded and the loss yours. Goat Funded Trader: profit above 1 percent of the initial balance per trade removed. Hola Prime: profit reversed on 2-Step Pro; a closed account on Direct. Instant Funding: two warnings with the profit deducted, then the account is breached. Maven Trading: profit in the window excluded; it cannot count toward passing. The5ers: profit in the window deducted, the loss stays yours.
Which news counts as high impact?
Whatever your firm says counts, and that is not the same list everywhere. Some firms publish a short list per currency, some follow the red folder events on Forex Factory, and some keep the calendar behind the login. The column on the right of the table says which one each firm uses.
Are these rules current?
Each one was read on the firm's own help page, between 9 October 2026 and 15 October 2026, and the date is on every firm's page here. Firms change these rules without announcing it, so open their page before a trade on a funded account.
