FundedNext and trading around the news
News trading is allowed everywhere, but on a funded account only 40 percent of the profit made in the ten minute window counts. This is what their own help page says, read on 23 September 2026, with what it means in practice underneath.

The rule, in their own terms

- Challenge accounts are not subject to the rule.
- Once funded
- On Stellar 1-Step, 2-Step and Lite funded accounts, trades executed in the window fall under what they call the News Reward Share Rule.
- The window
- 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a listed high-impact event, so a ten minute window in total.
- What it costs you
- 40 percent of the profit from those trades is counted. Any loss in the same period stays with you in full.

What trips people up
- Nothing is forbidden here, which makes it the most permissive of the six, and the arithmetic is simple: a news trade has to be more than twice as good to be worth the same.
- Because challenges are exempt, a habit you build while passing is one the funded account will charge you for later.
Knowing the window is not the hard part
Knowing which release lands on which currency, and when, is. A rule about five minutes only helps if you saw the event coming that morning.
