E8 Markets and trading around the news
No restriction on E8 Signature and E8 Pro, or in the E8 One challenge. On a funded E8 One account, trading is prohibited within five minutes either side. This is what their own help page says, read on 9 October 2026, with what it means in practice underneath.

The rule, in their own terms
- During the evaluation
- You can trade news on E8 Signature and E8 Pro without restrictions, and in the E8 One challenge stage as well.
- Once funded
- On an E8 One performance account, trading during high-impact news events is strictly prohibited.
- The window
- From 5 minutes before the scheduled release to 5 minutes after it. Around speeches, from 5 minutes before the start to 5 minutes after the end.
- What it costs you
- Profits made in the window are deducted from the balance when a payout is requested, and they tell you by email.
- Which calendar counts
- Their own list of targeted instruments and restricted events, published in the article, next to their own economic calendar.

What trips people up
- The difference between their programmes is the whole story here: the same trade is fine on one account type and a deduction on another.
- Stop loss, take profit and buy or sell stop orders count as trades inside the window, and the platform does not stop you from placing them.
- Deduction at payout means the account can look right for weeks before the correction arrives.
- Their page also lists news strategies such as straddles and strangles under prohibited actions, without saying which programmes that covers.
Knowing the window is not the hard part
Knowing which release lands on which currency, and when, is. A rule about five minutes only helps if you saw the event coming that morning.
