MacroSetup and Forex Fundamentals, side by side
Both services do the same basic job: read the economy behind each currency and turn it into a direction, so you are not trading a chart in the dark. They differ in what they read, what they publish about themselves, and what they cost. Here is the comparison, taken from their own pages on 23 September 2026.
We are not affiliated with Forex Fundamentals, and this page is not sponsored by anyone.
The comparison
| MacroSetup | Forex Fundamentals | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get each day | A ranking of the eight majors with the reason per currency, a bias for all 28 pairs, and the three widest gaps as the setups of the day. | A fundamental bias per currency, bullish, neutral or bearish, with cross-pair bias and a confluence checklist. |
| Markets | Forex only: USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, CHF, AUD, NZD, CAD and the 28 pairs between them. | Forex, with pages per pair for the interest rate differential and per currency for positioning. |
| What goes into the score | Four parts with published weights: risk sentiment up to 40 points, fundamentals 35, geopolitics 20, price this week 5. | Their site names rates, inflation, jobs, positioning and news sentiment, scored into one bias. The weights are not published. |
| Positioning data (COT) | Not included. It is a weekly report on futures, and we have not been able to show that it adds to a daily reading. | Included, per currency, as one of the inputs. |
| Track record | Every day's top 3 measured on price from one London opening to the next, published day by day with the misses. | We could not find a day by day record of past calls measured against price on their site when we checked. |
| Entries, stops, targets | None, anywhere. The entry stays yours. | None either. Both are research rather than a signal service. |
| Price | $49 a month, with a 14 day trial and no card needed to start. | Their pricing page lists 42 euro a month when billed yearly, or 499 euro a year. Their home page says from 28 euro a month. |
Pick them if
- You want positioning data from the COT report in the same place as the macro.
- You want a page per pair for the rate differential and a glossary to work through.
- A yearly payment suits you better than a monthly one.
Pick us if
- You want to see how the calls actually turned out, day by day, before you pay for a second month.
- You want the weights of a score in the open, and the sentence behind every change.
- You trade a funded account and need the event risk on a setup before the session, not after.
An honest word about size: they have been at this longer and have more around the product, including reviews from members. We are newer, the current model has been live since 15 September 2026, and the reason we publish every day of that record is that it is the only thing a new service can offer instead of a reputation.
How we checked
Everything in the right-hand column comes from pages Forex Fundamentals publishes themselves, read on 23 September 2026: their home page, their pricing page and their FAQ. We have not used their product, so this page compares what each service publishes, not how it feels to use.
Prices and features change. If something here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it, and the date above moves with it. Forex Fundamentals is their trademark, we have no affiliation with them, and nobody paid for a word of this.
The other comparison we keep is MacroSetup and EdgeFinder.
Questions about the two
Are MacroSetup and Forex Fundamentals the same thing?
They do the same job in different ways: both read the economy behind each currency and turn it into a direction, and neither gives entries or stops. The differences are what goes into the score, whether the weights and the past calls are published, and the price.
Which one is cheaper?
Theirs is cheaper over a year if you pay yearly: their pricing page lists 42 euro a month billed yearly, against our 49 dollars a month. We have a 14 day trial with no card, which is the part that costs nothing to find out.
Do either of them give trading signals?
No. Both are research: a direction per currency, with no entry, stop or target, and the same output for every member at the same time.
Why does MacroSetup not use COT positioning data?
The report comes out once a week and describes futures positions from the Tuesday before. We have not been able to show that it adds anything to a daily reading, and we would rather leave a pillar out than carry one we cannot defend.
