FXIFY and trading around the news

Allowed on the 1, 2 and 3 Phase accounts and on 2 Phase Pro. On Instant Funding, Instant Funding Lite and the Lightning plan, no trades or orders within five minutes either side of high-impact news. This is what their own help page says, read on 15 October 2026, with what it means in practice underneath.

The rule, in their own terms

During the evaluation
Allowed on 1, 2 and 3 Phase and on 2 Phase Pro, with no window. On the Lightning plan, trading is restricted five minutes either side of major news.
Once funded
Their page for the 1, 2 and 3 Phase accounts allows news without separating the funded stage, so it sets no other rule for it. On Instant Funding and Instant Funding Lite, no trades or orders may be placed within five minutes either side of a high-impact event.
The window
5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a high-impact event, on Instant Funding, Instant Funding Lite and Lightning. Their page does not set a separate window for speeches.
What it costs you
On the Instant accounts a trade in the window is void: the profit is disregarded and a loss stays yours. On every account, taking significant risks on news trades can get a trader banned.
Which calendar counts
Their pages speak of high impact news schedules without naming a calendar.

FXIFY news calendar: this week's high-impact releases

The high-impact releases for the eight major currencies this trading week, from our own calendar, in Amsterdam time with the UK time beside it. Which events are restricted is FXIFY's decision and their own list is the one that applies, so use this as the week to plan around and check theirs before a trade on a funded account.

What trips people up

  • On the Instant accounts, a trade placed before the blackout that hits its take profit inside the window is void. Holding through the news is allowed.
  • Their terms ban gap trading: opening trades while major news is scheduled and two hours or less before a market closes for two hours or longer.
  • Continuously trading around news is listed as a possible sign of a banned strategy.

Knowing the window is not the hard part

Knowing which release lands on which currency, and when, is. A rule about five minutes only helps if you saw the event coming that morning.

MacroSetup flags every high-impact release for both currencies in a setup, with the time, before the session starts. This week's events for the eight majors are public on the calendar page, and what the research does with them is on the page for prop traders.

The other firms

The windows run from 2 to 10 minutes, and what happens afterwards runs from a share of the profit to a closed account. Worth reading before you pick your next challenge. All 16 firms side by side.
